The Founder

Melanie Rothman is an experienced educator, counsellor, and wellbeing specialist with over 15 years in education and a decade focused on student wellbeing. Her work bridges cognitive science, behavioural psychology, and real-world classroom experience to help students thrive.

She holds a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science), a Graduate Diploma in Education, and a Master of Counselling, and is also a certified yoga and meditation teacher—bringing a truly holistic lens to student mental health and engagement.

Melanie’s career highlights include being appointed Head of House early in her teaching career, supporting elite youth athletes as tutor and carer for the Australian Children’s Ski Team in Austria, and guiding students through the mental health impacts of Melbourne’s COVID lockdowns.

Having taught in a wide range of public and private schools across QLD, NSW, and VIC, Melanie saw firsthand the need for deeper psychological tools in education. In response, she created Metacog—an evidence-based, CBT-informed program that teaches students to reframe unhelpful thoughts, build resilience, and stay motivated.
